This salt-glaze process used by students of the Lambeth School of Art gives these pieces a very distinctive and attractive appearance. This jug is marked "Doulton Lambeth England" on the bottom along with the number 874. It also appears to have an artist signature which to me appears to be E. B. Please see the logo scan to see a picture of these markings. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or stains and the interesting vignettes of a friar smoking and drinking are still nice and clear. The only flaw I can see are a couple of miniscule pinpoint nicks on the inside rim of the base.
