A very beautiful Royal Doulton Plate from the popular "Gibson Girl Series" that was first introduced in 1901. They were based on the works of the famous turn-of-the-century artist/illustrator Charles Dana Gibson. This 10-1/2" plate is entitled "They Go Fishing" and consists of a transfer design in the midst of a lovely cobalt blue background. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or stains. In addition, it is free of the crazing that is so typical on these 100-year old plates.
